Some of you know that I have been doing graffti for quite some time. For those of you who don't know, well...
Back in begining of the 80's (1982ish), I had my first encounter with a spray can. I had been drawing my whole life, so the transition from paper to concrete was natural, it was just another medium. I started writing my name and doing cholo hand styles in the begining. A year or so later, (1983ish) I witnessed the film "Wild Style". I flipped out when I saw the potential of a spray can. At that point, I had a tag and started doing sketches that I would eventually paint under the light of the moon.
Through out the years graffiti was the one "art" that really broke through for me. It was the disease that saved my life. I strongly lived my teenage years as a graffiti artist. It also opend my doors to the world of ART. My drawings were just drawings when I was a kid. Now my drawings were going to be pieces of art.
I have contributed many things to the "life" of graffiti. I say "life" because graffiti is very much alive. It has been for millions of years. Through many forms and many aspects. It is the one thing that has been used to document culture and history.
Now I won't claim that I am the inventor of a certain style or technique, but I will claim I have been contibuting to the "life" of the art for many years. For those of you who know my style and birthings of it, as well as my contribution to the evolution, well you know....
I still spray paint on walls, and most likey will never stop until something renders me unconcious.
A short introduction to you.
